2010 Los Angeles Boat Show Highlights PDF  | Print |  E-mail

nordic_laliveAlthough down in size, the 54th annual Los Angeles Boat Show opened on Thursday with some obvious flair. Ashley Force-Hood was on hand signing autographs at the Nordic Boats booth and Dave’s Custom Boats had a few flashy Widebody models on display.

From the fire-engine-red 30 Sport Deck to the new M-31 Widebody with a pair of Mercury Racing HP700SCi engines and NXT1 drives painted bright green to match, DCB’s booth was a showstopper.

Also unveiling two new models, Nordic was right across the way. Featuring a Mercury Racing HP525EFI engine, the new 29 Deck Boat was finely crafted and ran 83 mph on Lake Havasu before being delivered to the show. Nordic also had the new 21 CrossFire ski boat on display, which is available with single Mercury OptiMax outboards.

Powerboat got a peek at Howard Custom Boats’ new 28 SCS, a catamaran based on the company’s stellar 28 Sport Deck platform that features a similar wraparound windshield and deck appearance as the 36 Bullet it unveiled in 2009. It wasn’t at the show, but there were photos.

We’ve posted a handful of photos from the opening day in our Photos section. Click here to check them out. For descriptions of each photo, click on the photo, then click Detail.

Also, it’s not too late to see all these boats for yourself. The show runs through Sunday (Feb. 21). Visit www.losangelesboatshow.com for more information.
