DCB Set to Showcase M-31 in L.A. PDF  | Print |  E-mail

With the Los Angeles Boat Show just around the corner, here’s a look at the new M-31 from Dave’s Custom Boats.

Dave Hemmingson, owner of DCB, talked to Powerboat just two weeks before the 54th annual Los Angeles Boat Show and was excited with the debut of the new 31-foot catamaran, which is a smaller version of its popular M-35 Widebody. Along with the M-31, the company will have a half dozen other models on display at the L.A. show, Feb. 18-21 (www.losangelesboatshow.com).

Measuring nearly 10 feet wide and 31 feet, 10 inches long, the M-31 features an almost identical cockpit with seating for six—two seats up front and four buckets across the back—as well as the same sporty wraparound windshield. The M-31 at the show will include twin Mercury Racing HP700SCi engines with color-matched NXT1 drives. Hemmingson said the boat handles flawlessly after several test runs and he expects the catamaran to top out above 130 mph. He added that the boat can be equipped with several power options, handling up to as much as twin 1,200-hp engines with No. 6 drives.

And just in case you can’t make it to the show, here are some more photos of the 31-footer. For more information or to contact DCB, visit www.dcbracing.com.
