New 39 Rockit from Hustler Steals the Show PDF Print E-mail

39rockit.jpgLast year, Hustler Powerboats made waves at the Miami International Boat Show with the debut of its 41 Razor. This year, the New York boatbuilder unveiled its 39 Rockit, a high-performance V-bottom designed specifically to top the 100-mph mark.

Built from the ground up, Hustler owner Joe LoGiudice said his company made 22 different changes to the 39-footer’s bottom design before they got it just right. The 39 Rockit on display at the show featured twin Mercury Racing HP700SCi engines in a staggered formation that were rigged with precision.

The boat also had some unique features including an automatic battery monitoring system, bolster seats with lumbar support that could be inflated or deflated for different size passengers, and a nonskid walkup on the engine hatch between two sun pad cushions.

LoGiudice said he wanted to create a boat that was different than Hustler’s successful 388 Slingshot, which was a boat built to handle power packages upward of 600 horsepower. LoGiudice expects the 39 Rockit to top 110 mph with the 700-hp motors and says the bottom was designed to handle the 1,000-plus-hp packages like Mercury Racing’s HP1075SCi engines.
