As part of the FRAM ToughGuard Cory Mac Boat Sweepstakes, Nordic Boats gave away a 22-foot Evolution sport boat at the Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., in February. Darrell Scrivner of Parker, Colo., and his son, Danny, attended the 50th annual event and enjoyed the races as guests in the FRAM Hospitality and the Nordic Tower suites. They were given a behind-the-scenes tour in the FRAM pit area and got to meet driver Cory McClenathan, aka Cory Mac. On the final day of competition, Scrivner went onto the track during the opening ceremonies and was handed the keys to the 22-footer in front of thousands of NHRA fans. Randy Davis, owner of the Lake Havasu City, Ariz., boatbuilder, was on hand for the presentation at the Auto Club Raceway. The 22 Evolution, which retails for $64,999, was equipped with a 300-horsepower MerCruiser 350 Mag MPI engine and can cruise at speeds up to 60 mph. It also comes with its own Extreme custom trailer with torsion axles, disc brakes and chrome rims. Fans had the opportunity to view the boat throughout the 2009-2010 season in the Honeywell CPG display at numerous NHRA event locations, including Chicago, Seattle, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Las Vegas and Pomona. Nordic hopes to see the Scrivner family at the 2010 Nordic Regatta in Lake Havasu on June 11-12. For more information on Nordic Boats, check out www.nordicboatsusa.com.
